METRO ARCHIVE NOTES: Metro Council Committee History The Metro Council Regional Environmental Management Committee was previously named Solid Waste (1987-1995). In January, 2001, the Regional Environmental Management Committee was renamed the Solid Waste and Recycling Committee. In January 2003, the Metro Council Solid Waste and Recycling Committee was disbanded (along with all Metro Council standing committees).
