METRO ARCHIVE NOTES: Metro Council Committee History The Metro Council Natural Resources Committee was created in January, 2001 with the purpose of reviewing and making recommendations to the Council on policies and programs related to water resource planning and management, Metro parks and greenspaces acquisition and operation, air quality measures, and fish and wildlife habitat and other natural resources. In January 2003, the Metro Council Natural Resources Committee was disbanded (along with all Metro Council standing committees).
