METRO ARCHIVE NOTES: Metro Council Committee History In March 1980, the Metropolitan Service District Ways and Means Committee was renamed the Metro Council Coordinating Committee. In July 1984, the Metro Council combined the Coordinating Committee, Regional Development Committee, Regional Services Committee and the Contract Review Committee into the new Council Management Committee. The purpose of the committee was to review budget amendments, investments, contracts, personnel rules, and individual councilor requests for items to be considered by the Council, along with changes in work programs, research, and special reports. In January 1988, the Metro Council Management Committee was renamed the Internal Affairs Committee.
