COMMUNITY PLANNING, NATURAL RESOURCES AND TRANSPORTATION
MEETING NOTES
January 15, 2002
Present: Carl Hosticka, Susan McLain, Rod Park, Rex Burkholder
The meeting was called to order at 1:10 p.m. in the Council Conference Room. Chair Hosticka explained the purpose of this committee was to discuss the coordination of the work of Council committees to meet important and sensitive deadlines. The committee discussed a draft outline of timelines and dates.
Jan to April: How to: subregional lands?
Industrial lands?
April to August 1: Conditions?
File Ordinances Periodic Review, inside and outside UGB
Riparian estimate of ESEE, wildlife/uplands inside and outside UGB
October 15: Complete Goal 5 Program
December 1: Council Adoption of Periodic Review through work of Community Planning
Committee
Questions outlined by the committee were:
1. Define what is meant by Fish and Wildlife Habitat Protection “program.”
- Will there be two separate issues: inside the ugb and outside the ugb?
- Define if do-able by October 15? Or when?
- Is uplands part of this process? If not, when does it come in?
2. Can we define “need” on a subregional basis?
3. What conditions should be placed on ugb expansion? Discussion of ugb conditions in the Spring.
The committee members asked Michael Morrissey, Council Analyst, to draw up a timeline showing key dates for both periodic review and fish and wildlife habitat protection. He will bring this timeline to the next meeting.
The next scheduled committee meeting will be February 19, 2002.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
