METRO ARCHIVE NOTES: Metro Council Committee History In January 1991, the Metro Council created the Governmental Affairs Committee. In January 1995, the Metro Council disbanded the Governmental Affairs Committee, only to reinstate it in October 1995. Beginning in January, 1999, the Metro Council decided to incorporate the Governmental Affairs Committee into the new Metro Council Operations Committee (along with the Regional Facilities Committee). In January, 2001, the Metro Council decided to incorporate the Metro Operations Committee into the new Metro Council Regional Facilities and Metro Operations Committee. In January 2003, the Metro Council Regional Facilities and Metro Operations Committee was disbanded (along with all Metro Council standing committees).
