METRO ARCHIVES NOTES: Metro Council Committee History In 1984, the Metro Council created the Council Budget and Finance Committee. The Metro Council Budget/Finance Committee was disbanded at the end of December, 1998. Beginning in January 1999, the Metro Council decided to address finance/budget issues within the context of Metro Council Work Sessions. In January 2000, the Metro Council decided to move the Budget/Finance Committee from a committee of the whole to a regularly standing committee. Beginning in January 2003, the Budget/Finance Committee was disbanded, after the Metro Council once again decided to address budget and finance issues within the context of Metro Council Work Sessions.
