Prior to 1992, the Port accessed the dam by driving on the north side of Columbia and North sloughs. This new access road allowed more direct access, and its grade was improved (slope reduced) when the 2003 structure was built. This record is part of the Smith and Bybee Wetlands Natural Area Historical Records Collection.
